NOVEMBER!!!!!!!

November 2010

FALL SHIN-DIG ** This SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 6th **
We will be having our annual “Fall Shin-Dig” this Saturday from 6-8pm at the home of Josh and Valerie Lowery (2 of our new youth committee members). We will enjoy a bonfire, hot dog roast, s’mores, and more! Meet at the church at 5:30, we will drive the church bus to the Lowerys’, and we will be back at the church by 8:30. Hope to have everyone there for a fun time of fellowship!
** Water Walk ** Sunday, November 14th **
Sunday, November 14th our church has an incredible opportunity to partner with an organization founded by the band, Jars of Clay. With help from churches and individuals, students and adults, Blood:Water Mission has raised millions of dollars to provide life-saving, clean water and health needs to people of some 800 African communities. With this money great efforts have been made to combat the HIV/AID crises in Africa, as well as establishing thousands of clean water wells to groups of people who would otherwise die without it. Please join us from 3:30-6pm (before evening church) on Nov. 14th. We will load on the church bus, travel to Richard and Renee Sims’ house, and start our Water Walk, where we will walk approx. 2 miles to a water source at gather water. This will give us the opportunity to experience, in a small way, the life that so many people of Africa live daily. It will draw our attention to the needs of another people, and give us the opportunity to HELP in whatever ways we can. Throughout the month of November our church will be collecting money in water bottles, our goal is $1,000, this money will be donated to partner with Blood:Water Mission efforts in Africa. This amount of money could help to repair a poorly implemented water well in Uganda or Zambia, or help to supply 150 people with BioSand filters to help reduce the likelihood of illness from contaminated drinking water. Please be apart of this! Just $1 can help provide clean drinking water to 1 African for 1 year!
**
Hi-Way 80 ** Monday, November 22nd **
We will be meeting at the church at 8:15am to help prepare meals for Hi-Way 80’s Thanksgiving Meals-On-Wheels Program. We could use everyone’s help! We should be finished preparing meals by 11am and will grab lunch at Chick-Fil-A. Please bring about $8 for lunch. We will be back at the church by around 12:30.
** Community Thanksgiving Service ** Sunday, Nov. 21st 6-8pm @ FBC Diana **
** Christmas Play Practice ** Wednesday Nights 8-9pm **

** See You At the Pole ** Wednesday, September 22nd **
Global Day of Student Prayer. Join with others at the flag pole before school at 7:00am. WE LIVE IN A BLESSED NATION- THERE ARE SO MANY PLACES IN THE WORLD WHERE A GATHERING LIKE THIS COULD RESULT IN ARREST, PERSUCUTION, AND DEATH. DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS! Join with your student body and spend a little in with our Heavenly Father.
Pray for God to REVEAL Himself to you and your friends in middle school, high school, college - as you pray for one another and your friends, school, community, country, and world.

If you signed up for a ticket I need your payment as soon as you can get it to me, tickets are $10. ** Please remember, as we have discussed before, students who are going to the event as a part of our group are not to drive themselves or others to the event. I really appreciate your respect and cooperation in this matter. Thanks! **

Summer and I will be going to have dinner at Chili’s on this night. Anyone who would like to join us is most definitely welcomed! At Least the Food was Good!

A post that is a little late- sorry!

At the end of August we went to the Ranger Game and Mercy Me Concert. The concert was great, hot but great. We got to hear The Great Hambino's (Josh Hamilton) life story and how God has just totally changed his heart and his life, which is always incredible to hear! Mercy Me rocked the lawn and we stuck out the heat to join in with this HUGE crowd in worship!

And then... the game began... Our Rangers played the Oakland A's and... well, let's just say, at least the food was good! Because the game... was not so much!
Yumm!!
But, we made the best of it all- and had a great time! ... And yes, we are still a youth group with a deep love for our Rangers!

B2SB & Prayer Walks were a BLAST!

Let me just say, I think most everyone had a great time playing LCR--- (make sure and leave a comment so everyone knows what it is!!!) Congrats to everyone who won a prize!
Also, the GUTTER ice cream sundae was pretty amazing- I think everyone enjoyed that too. Except for a few who were afraid of the germs- but hey, we are ONE body right? Check it out...
And we would also like to welcome our new-to-youth students- our 7th graders who promoted today!

Savannah :)
Morgan :)

And to end the night, a great group gathered at the schools to pray for the upcoming school year that begins TOMORROW. We circled up at many different areas of all the local school districts and completely devoted this school year to God. Our prayers will continue for all our students and teachers throughout tomorrow- remember guys, THIS IS YOUR MISSION FIELD. The place where God has placed you to make a difference for HIM!

Back To School Bash TONIGHT

"SEW" Blessed By This Weekend!!!

Well the girls had their "SEW" Fun Party last night and were up til midnight or so sewing. All the shirts turned out really good. And I think all the girls did pretty well their first time sewing. Only one of them sewed their shirt closed... but I won't name any names... (e...cough....nissa....cough, cough) :)

We had a lot of fun making these shirts to support our adoption from Russia. Our church has been very supportive, both prayerfully and financially. This morning we actually had 13 people place orders for their very own, hand-made shirt- like these....
Then, after morning service, the youth group went school clothes shopping for some other kiddos within our community. It was such a blessing to see our students interact with these kids. They were so kind and help make today a really fun day for them. I really appreciate all of you guys who came- it blessed my heart.
We didn't get a group photo, but here are some photos from the shopping trip.
